Indigenous Peoples with Arthritis Working Group
2005-2006
Organized and facilitated workshops at the FND office in Winnipeg, focusing on supporting Indigenous communities affected by arthritis.

Joints in Motion
Led fundraising efforts, including participation in a run in Belgium. Our family raised over $10,000 in partnership with Safeway and Patient Partners in Arthritis.

1997-2008
Played a key role in demonstrating standardized musculoskeletal (MSK) exams to healthcare professionals, including medical students, GPs, rheumatologists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

  • Led initiatives like “Getting a Grip on Arthritis” (2005-2006) and Quick MSK Examination training.
  • Conducted community health workshops in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Consumer Advisory Council of The Canadian Arthritis Network

Indigenous Consumer Representative
2004-2008
Proudly served as the first Indigenous Consumer representative for Canada, collaborating with researchers on committees for Partnership and Sustainability (2005-2008).

Speaker at the CAN Conference and the Keynote Speaker at Residents Weekend in Montreal (2007).

Media Engagement
2009
Participated in a significant media campaign at HSC (Health Science Center) Winnipeg, sharing my arthritis journey across various platforms. My story was featured in newspapers, on the radio, and on television. A life-size picture of me was displayed on the main elevator door at the hospital for three years, and pamphlets with my story were available in every waiting room, with additional displays throughout the hospital.
